We've chosen 'A Marathon of Sprints' as the theme for this year's Internet Retailing conference, partly as a nod to the upcoming Olympic Games but also in recognition of the fact that ecommerce, like all areas of retailing, never stands still.
This fast pace of change and innovation means that continuous improvement programmes, as well as day-to-day tweaks, need to be kept aligned with the longer-term needs of the business and of overall strategy. Even if you're not currently undergoing a major change programme to cross-channel retailing, a replatforming exercise or innovating in one aspect of the business or another, then the general evolution of internet retailing still means it's essential to keep up with an ever-changing competitive environment as consumer behaviour changes, competition adapts and the market grows.
The Internet Retailing 2011 conference will begin at 9.00 with the introduction to the keynote session. The keynote will finish at 10:50 when the room will be reconfigured for the 3 conference streams to begin at 11.20, giving delegates time for a coffee and to visit the exhibition hall.
